Relaxation is a fat busting stress reliever

Learn at least one super deep relaxation technique like mine picture here.

Here’s an easy, powerful fat loss tactic: relieve stress regularly through relaxation. Because stress is one of the main causes of overweight.

Stress, tension, anxiety — many people relieve these by overeating and overdrinking, consciously or unconsciously. I know I did, and am still tempted to all the time. And usually not with the healthiest foods, or beverages, particularly alcohol, which is empty calories.

Relaxation gets its own blog because it is a lost art, but need not be that way. Nothing is easier than relaxing; the hard part is downshifting from the mindset that this is a hurry-up world and I’ve got bills to pay and I can’t take time for time out, etc., etc. Nonsense. Switch that mindset to one that says, I take really good care of myself and taking time to relax is part of that, and it is vital to keeping in good shape physically and mentally.

Relaxation techniques are endless and need not be long or complicated. You can definitely find ways of doing them at work or anywhere else. Like these:
A simple deep breathing exercise, less than a minute.
A leisurely or even a brisk walk can be very relaxing.
Stretching.
Meditating, from a couple of minutes to thirty or more.
A power nap of five minutes or 10 minutes. Just a very short time in a deep relaxation or nap state has wondrously rejuvenating mental and physical effects.

Try out and find some you like, and do them daily.

I also recommend you come up with your own favorite super relaxation technique, for after work or other times when you need it.

Here is mine, as shown in the above photo: I recline in my recliner chair, wearing an eye pillow and noise cancellation headphones. I listen to a relaxation audio recorded in my own most soothing voice, about 20 minutes long. Virtually every session, I am so thoroughly relaxed halfway through that I doze off. I have a wake up sound at the end, so I usually wake up after 8 or 10 minutes of napping or very deep relaxation. I have never not felt 100 percent refreshed and rejuvenated after such a session. I’m hooked on it.
Find relaxation techniques that work for you and take time for them daily, at least a couple of times a day. Relieve your stress healthfully and you’ll be less likely to overeat and overdrink.

That relaxation audio I mentioned is in my book The Maui Diet, so pick up a copy at themauidiet.com website if you want to record it in your own voice, too, I highly recommend it as a super stress buster and fat fighter.
