Only you can do this. Only you know what you really like. Other than eating and drinking your favorite beverages. Do this exercise and follow it.
Write down ways to nurture yourself, to make you feel good, to pleasure yourself, other than eating and drinking. Get away from having food and drink as the main events in your life. Only include healthy, life-affirming habits and activities. Leave off things like being a couch potato for 4 hours in front of the television, overindulging in alcohol, or smoking cigarettes when you’re under stress. Plan for pleasure each and every day, and do some of these. And when you’re tempted to overeat, check your list and do something off of it instead.
Hint: if one or more of your pleasures is exercise of any sort, you are golden.
Some of my favorites are: listening to music, listening to informational audios, exercising, snorkeling, walking, swimming, reading, doing deep relaxation, taking a Jacuzzi, writing, watching great speakers in person or on video, hiking, kayaking.
